Installing ffmpeg on Fedora Core 10
Saturday, February 7th, 2009In a perfect world you'd execute "yum install ffmpeg" and yum will install the dependencies but sometimes it does not work without some extra effort.
Solution
Adding an additional yum repository.
Login as root
rpm --import http://ATrpms.net/RPM-GPG-KEY.atrpms

# vi /etc/yum.repos.d/atrpms.repo
Paste the contents
[atrpms]
name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - ATrpms
baseurl=http://dl.atrpms.net/f$releasever-$basearch/atrpms/stable
gpgkey=http://ATrpms.net/RPM-GPG-KEY.atrpms
gpgcheck=1
Execute the install command again
yum install ffmpeg
